Cheddar brand Pilgrim's Choice have taken dairy treats to extreme with a new cheese-flavoured ice cream.
The cheesemakers have teamed up with Snugbury's Ice Cream and launched the wacky dessert in three flavours; Cheddar, Branston Ripple and Cheddar & Chutney.
The new range is in celebration of National Ice Cream Month, and hopes to bring the savoury treat to dinner tables as an amuse-bouche or a palate cleanser between courses - served with a cracker instead of a wafer.
Hannah Phillips, from Pilgrims Choice, said: "We're always experimenting with recipes to find new and innovative ways of eating our cheddar and thought this could be the ultimate way to enjoy cheese this summer.
"We weren't sure if it would work, but are delighted with how deliciously moreish and accurate the flavours are. And we hope they will be a huge success with everyone who tried it."
