Hideo Furuta

Artist and sculptor; Born November 22, 1949; Died November 5, 2007. HIDEO Furuta, who has died aged 57, was a Japanese sculptor who settled in Creetown in Galloway, where the plethora of white granite in the quarries he lived beside gave him raw materials to create his huge but whisperingly delicate works.
