What is it?

Snazzy wireless speaker and TV sound-bar.

How will it change my life?

Granted, there's probably a lot you can get for the best part of £650: a budget holiday in the sun, a decent road bike or a telly of such statuesque proportions that it puts a stadium Jumbotron to shame. But if you could spend £650 on anything you wanted? I reckon you will never go far wrong with a top notch speaker system.

Good points?

Like all Libratone's products the Diva has great sound quality which certainly adds extra panache to the film and television experience whether it's an edge-of-the-seat moment in a thriller or bringing the crowd atmosphere of a live football game into your living room. The Diva is essentially a versatile Bluetooth speaker that can connect to your home entertainment system via an array of options such as optical input, 3.5mm port, AirPlay, DLNA and NFC. Connecting the speaker to home WiFi is achieved via DNLA and gives direct access to music services such as Spotify for quick hassle-free streaming.

The Bluetooth communication is equally easy to set-up and is done in seconds so you can get that smartphone or MP3 player cranking out the tunes before you can say "mad for it".

Libratone speakers tend to sport a Scandi chic-style woolly exterior over the main output frame and the Diva is no different, looking like a long cushion mounted to the wall or propped up by its stand. These fabric covers can be replaced with different coloured options available to complement your decor.

Bad points?

You will have to think hard as it is rather expensive for a music streamer. The accompanying smartphone app offers limited control and left me disappointed with what could have been.

Best for ...

Those who have extra cash to splash on a unique home sound system.

Avoid if ...

All you need is an upgrade to your existing TV sound output. There are much more affordable and equally effective alternatives.

Score:

8/10, combining standard Bluetooth music streaming with TV connectivity is a nice touch.
