1 That’ll Be The Day

What started out as a six-week experimental tour three decades ago, That’ll be The Day continues to go from strength to strength. Prepare for a party as the legendary and most successful touring rock ’n’ roll production returns with a brand new show. Trevor, Gary and the gang will be bringing on back the good times with a combination of their unique and side-splitting comedy routines, mixed with back-to-back classic gold hits from the ’50s right through to the ’70s. 2 Trimontium Museum

The Trust runs a series of activities for members and the general public including lectures, outings and other activities. Head along to the popular guided walk which kicked off for another season this week. Led by expert volunteers, they explore the history of Trimontium as well as other points of interest along the route to Newstead, covering five miles of easy terrain. A series of guided walks to Old Melrose also take place, a special place for the indigenous population, known to the Romans and also the site of a Celtic Abbey.

3 #Pianodrome Resonancy

Artist Tim Vincent Smith and his team have built an amphitheatre entirely from discarded pianos in a first-of-its-kind performance space. It will bring art, music, science, movement and creativity under one geodesic dome roof. Head along to create artists interventions and build experimental instruments.

4 Asylum

The popular tourist attraction’s first-ever virtual reality experience is inspired by the real-life story of the execution and public dissection of John Howison, a 19th century Edinburgh murderer more commonly known as the “Cramond Killer.” Using 360 technology in a haunting, cinematic video, users will be taken back to where Howison is about to be publicly dissected, much to the delight of a zealous audience eager to see this barbaric murderer brought to an end.

5 BBC Scotland Tour

On this tour of BBC Scotland’s headquarters on the banks of the River Clyde learn about one of the most modern broadcast centres in the UK, find out how programmes are made and see inside some studios. 8 Falkirk Gin Festival

10 Are We Going To Lose Culloden?

Head to the powerfully emotive and atmospheric battlefield this weekend
where the 1745 JacobiteRising came to a tragic end. Author of Culloden: Great Battles, Professor Murray Pittock will be the guest speaker at this year’s annual 1745 Association Lecture. He has written books on eighteenth century and Napoleonic warfare, fortification, armoured warfare in World War II and modern strategic geography.
