Mary Berry was back on form with her final guide to Foolproof Cooking including a sponge cake worthy of a GBBO showstopper and introducing us to the word coulibiac.
But did the celebrated Mary manage to include a sly dig at fellow TV cook Delia Smith while explaining how she loved cooking for a big group in the BBC Two show?
As she served up her spread of food for a garden party, Mary revealed: “I love having a crowd. I’d never write a book ‘cooking for one’.
