JAMES Bond star Sir Sean Connery has donated a kilt he once paraded down the catwalk to a charity auction.
The Holland & Sherry kilt, worn by the former 007 agent at the Dressed to Kilt fashion show in New York, was specially made in Peebles, the Borders, for Sir Sean in 2009.
It will go under the hammer tonight at the Liberty Theatre in Times Square, New York, at a star-studded fashion show with the theme From Scotland With Love.
The event is being held as part of the city's Tartan Week celebrations.
Proceeds will be split between Radio Clyde's Cash For Kids campaign, which helps about 100,000 vulnerable children across the west of Scotland, and US war veterans' charity The Wounded Warrior Project.
Other items up for sale include a pair of trousers made for Donald Trump, a dress worn by actress Andie MacDowell, a kilt worn by rugby legend Gavin Hastings and golfing plus-fours made for golfer Sam Torrance.
Every piece in the auction has a Scottish connection as they have all been worn at previous Tartan Week events. The annual Dressed to Kilt event regularly featured celebrity models from both sides of the Atlantic, showcasing a diverse selection of Scottish- themed designs
In December, US-based charity Friends of Scotland, co-founded by Sir Sean, announced that Dressed to Kilt would not go ahead in 2012.
The charity said it had ended its relationship with "volunteer" Geoffrey Scott Carroll.
However, Dr Scott Carroll said that From Scotland With Love was planned in place of Dressed to Kilt's 10th anniversary.
He said the name of the event was "irrelevant".
The fashion show and cocktail party has a dress code of "New York cocktail attire with a Scottish accent" and guests are encouraged to don their kilts and trews.
Former First Minister Lord Jack McConnell was appointed as chairman of Cash for Kids last year and he will make a speech on behalf of the charity.
He said: "I think there will be some serious bidding for Sir Sean's kilt. He and I have for years been involved in this event and have supported it right through the past decade.
"His kilt will be one of the items with the most interest at the auction."
Lord McConnell will also join rugby star Thom Evans and actress Kelly Brook, Miss Scotland Jennifer Reoch, Scots entrepreneur Sir Tom Hunter and Gossip Girl's "Chuck Bass" Ed Westwick on the catwalk.
