BABY lion Libby has enjoyed her first taste of spring as she ventured outside at a wildlife park.

She is the first cub to be born for a decade at Blair Drummond Safari Park near Stirling.

Her mother Teekay and father Dudley looked on as the young lion, born last September, enjoyed playing in the fresh air.

It came as time ran out for Scotland's pandas as their limited breeding season drew to a close.

Tian Tian and Yang Guang had only a small window of opportunity to mate and despite "natural sparks" flying between them, the pair did not fully mate.

Keepers at Edinburgh Zoo hoped for one final chance to put them together but test results late on Wednesday showed a drop in the female bear's hormone levels.
