Plans for the first sex shop in the Borders have been rejected after a flood of complaints.
Businesswoman Shona Jackson, 26, - who already sells adult toys and lingerie from her fashion boutique - wanted to expand her business to include harder-core DVDs and videos.
However, that required a licence, and a meeting of Scottish Borders Council ruled a sex shop was out of keeping for the Bank Street area of Galashiels. The council was inundated with objections to the application.
