Robbe dinwoodie THE independent health campaigner elected as an MSP four years ago, Dr Jean Turner, has announced she is to stand again in Strathkelvin and Bearsden in May.

"I owe it to my constituents," she said at the weekend, pointing out that although the specific issue of Stobhill Hospital which she campaigned on last time had been resolved, there were now wider health issues to be addressed.

She beat Labour's Brian Fitzpatrick by fewer than 500 votes in 2003 and Labour then went on to lose at the General Election to the LibDems so Dr Turner's decision to stand again will complicate the picture.
