Two men who were found in a car in a gangland killing after they were stabbed to death have been identified.

Police were called to Leytonstone, east London, just before 1am on Saturday. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

The murder victims are Aaron Carriere, 21, and Josiah Manful, 20, who were both from east London, Scotland Yard said.

Post-mortem examinations found the cause of death for Mr Carriere was given as stab wounds to the neck, while the cause of death for Mr Manful was given as shock and haemorrhaging, and stab wounds to the chest.

No arrests have been made and an incident room has opened in Barking under detective chief inspector Neil Attewell from the Homicide and Major Crime Command.

Forensic teams investigating the double murder yesterday combed a 200-yard stretch of Montague Road, scouring drains and gutters as they went.

A steady stream of mourners came to pay their respects and lay flowers at the police line.

In a written tribute a mourner said: "Nothing but love my brothers, may you rest in peace. Love Tony."
