A teenager has been charged after a footballer complained of racist abuse during a match, police said.

Jordan Tapping, who plays for East Stirlingshire, was substituted after suffering ''extreme distress'' caused by alleged comments at a Scottish League Two game at Balmoor Stadium in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, on Saturday.

Police Scotland said that a 19-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident at the match, which Peterhead FC won 4-0.
