A Parcelforce delivery driver chased by police at nearly 100mph escaped a ban after a court heard he was a war hero decorated by the US military.
Alexander Barclay was discharged with full honours by the RAF and recognised by Allied Forces for his bravery after being injured in northern Iraq.
Perth's Justice of the Peace Court heard how Barclay was now working for Parcelforce and had put his foot down to deliver a "time critical" package on 14 November.
He was clocked driving at more than 95mph on the A9 Inverness to Perth road.
Barclay, 47, of Strathmore Place, Dundee, admitted driving at 95mph at Wadestone.
Victoria Stronach, defending, argued against a ban, saying: "His whole family would be left without any transport or wage earner. He is registered disabled. That is a consequence of injuries sustained in 1996 when serving with the RAF."
Barclay had five points put on his licence and was fined £210.
