A DOCTOR whose wife fell seriously ill after he injected her with heroin has been discharged from his community payback punishment order nine months early.

Ashley Sibery, 41, was ordered to perform 300 hours' community service and placed on supervision for two years at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in December 2012. However, Sheriff Frank Crowe heard that Sibery had completed his community service, hadn't committed another offence and was no longer addicted to the drug.

His wife was continuing to support him and social workers believed the court should end the order.
