The Queen's Speech has been put back due to a planned G7 summit in Brussels, the Leader of the Commons Andrew Lansley has announced.
The speech, setting out the Government's programme for the new parliamentary session, will now take place on June 4 - a day later than originally planned.
"The date will better facilitate arrangements for the ceremony and other events that week including the now planned G7 summit in Brussels," Mr Lansley said in a Commons written statement.
