Holocaust survivor Stefan Brienitzer, who fled to Scotland aged 10, has attended the opening of a new Anne Frank exhibition at an Edinburgh secondary school.

Mr Brienitzer, of Haddington, East Lothian, joined the families of Holocaust survivors at the launch of the project yesterday at Firrhill High School.

Anne Frank: A History for Today tells the story of the young Jewish girl's short life through quotes from her diary and powerful images, set against the backdrop of the rise of Nazism and the Second World War.

S2 students have been trained to act as guides, with tours offered to members of the public, S1 pupils and children at local primary schools.
