A PUPIL takes a leap to success in the Scottish Schools Athletics Association Championships.

Youngsters from across the country travelled to the newly transformed Hampden Park, which has been turned into an athletics field for the Commonwealth Games, for the annual event yesterday.

The long jump was one of a number of competitive events being held, with sessions in 100m, hurdles, pole vault, javelin and the steeplechase also taking place throughout the day.
