A POLICEMAN accused of pushing his pregnant wife down a flight of stairs plans to lodge a court action to stop prosecutors from pursuing a case against him.
Sergeant Gordon Wilson, of the Forth Valley division of Police Scotland, is accused of assaulting Nicola Wilson - also understood to be a police officer - at Drumview Gardens, Bo'ness, between September 1, 2001 and May 15, 2002.
Wilson, 45, is also accused of assaulting her again years later on October 27, 2006 at the Standing Order pub in Rose Street, Edinburgh.

Wilson, now of Grangemouth, appeared in the dock at Falkirk Sheriff Court yesterday to deny the charges.
His solicitor has lodged a minute of personal bar against the fiscal depute.
Sheriff John Rafferty continued the case for a further pre-trial hearing on September 3. Trial has been set for September 16.
A police spokesman confirmed Wilson had not been suspended from duty.
