Edinburgh arts venue Summerhall has won the Dan Crawford Award for Innovation at the Empty Space... Peter Brook 2015 Awards, announced on Tuesday at the National Theatre Studio in London.

The annual awards, now in their 26th year, celebrate innovation by theatre spaces that receive little or no public funding.

The award was accepted by Sam Gough, General Manager of Summerhall who said: "We are absolutely delighted to win this prestigious award. Summerhall is a unique and special place with a dedicated team of hard working and creative people behind it. We pride ourselves on our innovative programming all year round and it's fantastic to be recognised with such a special award."

Fiona Hyslop MSP, the Scotland's culture secretary, will deliver the keynote speech at the Creative Industries Federation’s roadshow in Glasgow on November 10.

She will then be joined for a panel discussion by Janet Archer, Chief Executive of Creative Scotland, Professor Tom Inns, Director of the Glasgow School of Art, and Dr Krishna Thiagarajan, Chief Executive of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

The roadshow will also see the launch of Creative Scotland and the University of St. Andrew’s report Intellectual Property: Tales from the Drawing Board.

The roadshow will be presented in partnership with the Glasgow School of Art and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra at the RSNO’s new home, the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

The Federation has invited members of Scotland’s arts, culture and creative industries to take part in the discussion which will begin at 6pm.
