The developer behind the controversial old Royal High School hotel has submitted new images to planners depicting how the revamp will look from different views.

Urbanist Hotels and Duddingston House Properties' £75 million renovation of Thomas Hamilton's A-Listed neoclassical masterpiece on Calton Hill goes before Edinburgh City Council in two weeks.

Concerns were raised with Unesco amid fears over the potential impact on the Scottish capital's World Heritage Site.

The developer said a survey showed that 93 per cent of residents support the hotel plan.
