Scots have been warned to prepared for more rain and snow as the severe weather continued.

An amber 'be prepared' warning for rain has been issued by the Met Office for Grampian, and Central, Tayside & Fife. A yellow 'be aware' alert is in place for the Highlands & Western Isles.

A yellow warning for ice and snow has also been issued for Strathclyde, Highlands & Western Isles, Grampian, Central, Tayside & Fife, and Dumfries, Galloway, Lothian & Borders.

The weather warning was issued at 1.31am today and is valid from 9am until 5pm today.
