Two men are understood to have died while climbing in Glen Coe in the Scottish Highlands.

Around 4.25pm yesterday police were alerted to two bodies after other climbers came across them on Stob Coire nam Beith.

A mountain rescue team was sent to the scene and the bodies of the two men, believed to be roped together,  were found just before 7pm.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Sadly, the two climbers were found to be deceased."

An investigation is under way to check for any sign of an avalanche.
