EDINBURGH Technopole, the Midlothian science and technology park, has been sold to new owners as part of a £95 million portfolio sale of five science parks across the UK.

The deal involves the largest privately owned network of science and technology parks in the UK, including Hexagon Tower in Manchester, Kent Science Park and Langstone Technology Park in Havant.

The network, branded as BEST (Business Environments for Science and Technology), has been sold by the Mars Pension Fund to US investment manager Angelo Gordon and London-based property manager Trinity Investment Management.

The buyers were advised by property consultancy Colliers International.
