DONALD Trump has been ticked off by a UK Government minister for peddling “a lot of nonsense” by suggesting Britain and Europe are no longer safe.

Anna Soubry, the business minister, took the US republican presidential hopeful to task after he reacted to the latest terror attacks in Brussels.

The billionaire businessman told ABC: "I don't think...England or I don't think that Europe is a safe place. No, I don't. There are a lot of problems in Europe that are very, very severe.

"When you look at Brussels, when you look at the way they've handled things from law enforcement standpoints, when you look at Paris, when you look at so many other places, no, it's not(safe)," he declared.

But Ms Soubry, who stressed that British and US citizens should “never give into terrorists” and must continue their everyday business, told Sky News: “Donald Trump has got quite a history of saying things; mainly things that are actually very unpleasant and highly offensive to people.

“In this case, I’m not offended by what he said; he’s entitled to his opinion but he does talk quite a lot of nonsense.”

Her comments followed a raft of other ministerial responses to Mr Trump’s outbursts. Last week, after the republican candidate asserted that Muslims in Britain were not helping police catch suspected terrorists, Home Secretary Theresa May insisted they were and that the presidential candidate was “just plain wrong”.

In December, after the American politician suggested a temporary ban on Muslims entering the US and claimed there were parts of London, which were “so radicalised that the police are afraid for their own lives,” David Cameron declined to back a call to ban him from Britain but suggested his comments were “divisive, stupid and wrong”.
