A new teaser trailer for the BBC’s revamped Top Gear series shows Matt LeBlanc struggling to get to grips with a powerful off-road car.

The presenter has trouble getting into the Ariel Nomad and ends up with his leg sticking out in a scene in the trailer, which aired on BBC One.

When he finally gets in to the unusual vehicle, the former Friends star declares: “A door would be nice.”

Matt, 48, is then seen racing the Nomad through the sandy terrain of the Moroccan desert and ends up covered in dust from head to toe.

The US actor was announced as one of the new faces of Top Gear in February.

He will co-host the popular motoring series alongside Chris Evans, who was unveiled as a presenter in 2015 following the departure of Jeremy Clarkson.

The trailer is one of a number of promos being released in the run-up to Top Gear’s re-launch in May.
