COLDPLAY’s Chris Martin has sent 50,000 fans at Hampden Park delirious.

The band played to a packed house on its A Head Full of Dreams world tour in support of their latest album.

Martin allowed fans to get close up to him by strutting his stuff on a stage which extended into the middle of the venue as he sang some of the band’s best known hits.

The Herald:

At one point he picked up a Saltire and waved it around.

Behind him three giant TV screens relayed footage to the crowd – and animations that included at one point images of giant monkeys – while there was a pyrotechnic display behind the stage.

Martin even took song requests – including some of the band’s classic tracks, such as The Scientist dating from 2002.
