TRAINSPOTTING 2 stars Ewan McGregor and Ewen Bremner took instruction from director Danny Boyle during filming atop Edinburgh’s Arthur’s Seat in sweltering heat.

In what is believed to be the final days of on-location filming, the actors were seen applying sun cream and sheltering under golf umbrellas from temperatures which hit the high 20s.

This weekend marks the 20th anniversary of the film which caught the imagination of 1990s Britain and became a global phenomenon.

The sequel – which has been set in a string of locations around Scotland – will be in cinemas from January 27.

Last week, the cast provoked a wave of excitement in Edinburgh when they sprinted down Princes Street in a recreation of the famous opening sequence from the original production.
