A 15-year-old girl was one of five people arrested in the latest police operation centred on trouble at May's Scottish Cup final.

The latest action, carried out on Thursday, takes the total number of arrests over alleged violence and disorder at the match to 55.

All five arrested in the latest swoop were charged in connection with alleged offences under the Offensive Behaviour at Football (Scotland) Act, Police Scotland said.

They were two men aged 35, a 17-year-old man, 22-year-old man and the 15-year-old girl.

The girl and both 35-year-olds were also charged over an alleged assault.

Police have not revealed where the latest arrests took place.

The four men were held in police custody following their arrests. All five people were expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Hibernian supporters flooded the Hampden pitch on May 21 after the Edinburgh side's dramatic 3-2 win over Rangers, with fans of the Ibrox team also making it past stewards and onto the turf before mounted officers restored order.
