The twin brother of twisted killer John Leathem was a registered sex offender after he sexually assaulted a woman in Glasgow. 

Leathem plead guilty to the murder of 15-year-old Paige Doherty by stabbing her 61 times the back office of his Clydebank deli. 

Leathem's twin brother George, 32, was not given a prison term for sexually assaulting a woman in 2003.

He grabbed a woman by the hair in Glasgow’s Linkwood Road and dragged her through the bushes before carrying out a sexual assault.

He pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court and was placed on the sex offenders' register, sentenced to a three-year probation order and ordered to serve 200 hours of community service, according to the Daily Record. 

He was also ordered to take part in a programme that manages sex offender cases. 

In court on Monday, killer Johnny claimed he commited the frenzied attack on the Clydebank teenager after he refused her a job and she threatening him by saying: "I will just say you touched me."

It was claimed he was afraid of being wrongly branded a pervert due to his brother's convictions. 

Leathem was taken to Low Moss Prison in Bishopbriggs, on the outskirts of Glasgow on Monday following his guilty plea at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday. 

Following the murder of the 15-year-old, he purchased bin bags and wipes from a local store and wrapped the teenager's body up before hiding it in his garden shed. 

He later her remains near a busy road.

The footage was later made public.

Leathem will be sentenced next month. He faces a life sentence.
