Art by some of Scotland's leading artists and musicians are to be sold to help raise money for a primary school in Glasgow.

A 'secret postcard' fundraising sale is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for the redevelopment of the playground for Notre Dame Primary School, and will feature art by Turner Prize winning artist Duncan Campbell, as well as leading contemporary artist Jim Lambie, the BP Portrait Award exhibitors Jackie Anderson and Jennifer Anderson, and artists Rosie McGurran and Cherylene Dyer, among others.

The postcard sale, which will include between 70 and 80 artworks priced at £40 each, will also include art from members of Wet Wet Wet, Belle & Sebastian, BMX Bandits, Bluebells and The Pastels.

In total the show will feature more than 40 local and international artists, photographers, designers and celebrities who have donated postcard sized original art works.

Each postcard will be exhibited anonymously before being sold.

Organisers say they are overwhelmed by the generosity of artists who have responded to their call for donations.

Some of the donors are artists who have children at the school, or are friends of parents at the school.

Jenny Gorevan, the organiser, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have received donations from so many talented and respected artists.

"As the work will be shown anonymously, we hope people will have some fun trying to spot the big names and grab a bargain, or fall in love with a fabulous new local talent."

The exhibition will open on Friday March 24, at Veneer Gallery, Finnieston, Glasgow, and continues on March 25.

The NDP Art Sale is a charity exhibition to raise money for the Notre Dame Primary School playground fund but a percentage from the sale will also be donated to a local charity.
