The body of a man has been recovered from a river in Argyll and Bute.

The 66-year-old was found in a burn in Kilchrenan near Taynuilt at about 5.25am on Sunday.

Police said their enquiries are continuing but they are not treating the death as suspicious.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Around 5.25am on Sunday March 19, the body of a 66-year-old man was discovered in a burn in the Kilchrenan area of Argyll near Taynuilt.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding his death, which at this time police are not treating as suspicious.

"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
