Joe Lewis: Given little chance at either Celtic goal and made terrific stops from Scott Sinclair and Leigh Griffiths after the break 7

Shay Logan: Didn’t cover himself in glory at Celtic’s first goal, giving Stuart Armstrong too much space to shoot. Otherwise solid enough 6

Mark Reynolds: Kept Leigh Griffiths quiet for the most part as Celtic struggled to get into their rhythm although turned inside by Patrick Roberts whose shot then hit the post 6

Ash Taylor: Skinned by Scott Sinclair in one first-half cameo but fairly comfortable beyond that in what is probably his last game for the club. Booked in second half 6

Andrew Considine: Did a decent job of containing Patrick Roberts down Celtic’s right wing and unlucky not to get on the end of a Kenny McLean cross at the other end 7

Niall McGinn: Pinpoint delivery from a corner set up Aberdeen’s opener but not as influential as Aberdeen would have liked 6

Graeme Shinnie: New Aberdeen captain was typically combative in the heart of midfield. Lashed a first-half shot into the side netting and drove his team forward at every turn 8

Kenny McLean: Forever on the fringes of things, one left-foot shot arrowing wide, a header sailing over 6

Ryan Jack: Booed by own fans when the teams were read out but didn’t let it affect his performance. Unfortunate to see a first-half shot parried and became more influential as game wore on 7

Jonny Hayes: Gave his team the ideal start with the opening goal of the game but showed his quality only in flashes after that. Made a mess of great second half chance, crossing behind Kenny McLean 6

Jayden Stockley: Surprise starter ahead of Adam Rooney and involved in the game’s most contentious incident when he caught Kieran Tierney with a swinging arm. First-half header well saved by Craig Gordon but no other real chances 5

Substitutes:

Adam Rooney (for Stockley 62): Early chance snuffed out by Callum McGregor after taking too long to shoot 5

Anthony O’Connor (for McGinn 75): Let Tom Rogic speed by him for winning goal 3

Scott Wright (for Jack 90): On too late to make a difference N/A
