STEVEN Whittaker has completed his return to Hibernian - a decade after leaving the Easter Road club for Rangers. The 33 year-old, recently released by Norwich City, has signed a three-year deal with Neil Lennon’s side. Whittaker came through the youth ranks at Hibs and was part of the team that won the League Cup in 2007, shortly before be moved to Ibrox for £2m.

The Scotland international isn’t eligible to play in today’s Betfred Cup match against Montrose but was pleased to have returned to the club where it all started for him.

"I am delighted to be back at Hibernian,” he said. “When I decided to return to Scotland, Hibernian was the club I hoped to come to. While the discussions have taken a while, they have always been positive and I am very pleased to be back playing at Easter Road for the Hibernian fans, and I hope I can play my part in ensuring a successful return to the top flight.”
