A YOUNG man has died in a quad bike crash on a busy M8 slip road near Paisley.

The 24-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, after emergency services raced to save him.

The crash took place at Junction 29 east bound, near Glasgow Airport.

It happened on Saturday, August 12 at around 3.45pm and the road was closed until 7.20pm.

Sergeant Mark Miller from the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Greenock said: “I would appeal to anyone who was on the M8 near to Junction 29 around the time of the crash, who may have witnessed what happened, to get in touch.

“I am also appealing for any motorists who could potentially have dashcam footage of the incident, or of the quad bike driving on the motorway beforehand, to please come forward.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Greenock via 101 and quote incident number 2662 of Saturday, August 12.”
