A MAN is to go on trial accused of the attempted murder of a woman in woodland.

Linda McDonald was allegedly battered with a dumbbell and dragged into Templeton Woods in Dundee last Monday.

A private hearing at Dundee Sheriff Court heard yesterday that Robbie McIntosh denied the charges, and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

Mr McIntosh, 31, of Strathmartine, Angus, was in court to hear the charges and was remanded in custody.

Prosecutors allege the attack led to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, permanent impairment and endangered Miss McDonald’s life as he carried out the murder bid. No trial date has been set.
