The Birks Cinema in Aberfeldy will support the Luminate festival for a 4th year by showing films through October which will particularly appeal to older people.
Luminate is Scotland’s "creative ageing organisation" which runs an annual Arts Festival across Scotland during October.
The Birks Cinema will show three films which are part of the festival film programme – Hotel Salvation (October 15) , A Man Called Ove (October 8, 18 and 26) and Sense of an Ending (October 6)
Hotel Salvation won the UNESCO award at Venice Film Festival and the Critics Award at Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema.
It won Best Film at the New York Indian Film Festival. Hotel Salvation is now a strong contender to be India’s Academy Award entry in 2018.

ARTIST ROOMS: Themes of birth, love and loss in Perth as Louise Bourgeois exhibition is being extended during October.
This exhibition - extended to seven days over the October holidays - draws from the ARTIST ROOMS collection of over 1,600 works of modern and contemporary art, jointly owned by the National Galleries of Scotland and Tate.
The collection is displayed in museums and galleries across the UK through a touring programme, supported by the Arts Council England, Art Fund and Creative Scotland.
It was established by Anthony d'Offay in 2008 through The d'Offay Donation with the assistance of the National Heritage Memorial Fund, Art Fund, and the Scottish and British Governments.
The free exhibition runs until November 18.

Canongate Books has bought Severn House Publishers - an independent publisher.
Kate Gibb, formerly Canongate’s finance and operations director, has been promoted to chief operating officer of Canongate, and will sit on the Severn House board of directors, alongside Canongate chief executive Jamie Byng and Canongate chairman David Young.
Canongate acquired Severn House Publishers, for an undisclosed sum from owner Edwin Buckhalter and his family.
Buckhalter founded Severn House, a specialist fiction publisher focusing on the U.S. library market, in 1974.

Dundee Jazz Festival has revealed its 2017 line-up.
From November 15-19 Dundee will be host to some of the best musicians from the local and American jazz and blues scene.
Concerts will be presented at the Gardyne Theatre, Dundee Rep, The Reading Rooms, Unicorn as well as Jazz in the Ferry on the Sunday afternoon.
The Gardyne Theatre will host two historical concerts that set the scene on the centenary year including A Night in New Orleans, featuring Alison Affleck.
Seonaid Aitken - winner of the Scottish Jazz Award as Best Vocalist 2017 is presenting a special show for the centenary year, honouring Ella Fitzgerald.
She’s supported by the The Groove Merchant Jazz Orchestra, featuring Fergus McCreadie, Stephen Henderson and David Bowden.
Tickets are available from October 4.
