A TEENAGER has been found not proven of killing his five day old son.
Jack Butterworth, 18, was accused of causing the death of his son, Lucas, having allegedly attacked his pregnant lover Katie Strawhorn.
Katie, 20, was said to have suffered a “placental abruption” resulting in the child being born by emergency caesarean section. He died in hospital.
Butterworth, of Kilmarnock being accused of his culpable homicide at the High Court in Glasgow. However, Ms Strawhorn told police that she had not been attacked, as she had claimed, and told jurors she was in love with him.
He was admonished after he breached a bail order not to contact Ms Strawhorn.
