Wind and rain lashed Scotland is set to dodge the bullet over the next storm - Brian

The Met Office say the deep depression heading towards us from the Atlantic will undergo “explosive” changes as it crosses the ocean.

Yellow ‘be aware’ warnings have been issued mainly for the south of England, Wales and stretching up the west coast to the Scots border.

The Met Office's Emma Sharples said: ”The strongest winds circulate around the eye, not in the eye of the storm itself.

“So for Scotland, the effect will be no greater than the normal Autumn depression you see regularly.

“There will be rain overnight Friday into Saturday."
