Firefighters have extinguished a large fire at a disused care home building.

Emergency services were called to the blaze in Port Elphinstone, outside Inverurie in Aberdeenshire at 1.42pm on Sunday.

At the height of the incident more than 60 crew members were at the scene in School Road with nine appliances, a height vehicle, command support unit and a water carrier.

Crews left the scene at midnight, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said.

There were no reports of any casualties as a result of the blaze.
