A MAN has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in East Dunbartonshire.

Police swooped on the Asda supermarket in Bishopbriggs after the suspected stabbing in Torrance nearly three miles away.

Police and the ambulance service were called to the Asda at around 7pm where there was an abandoned vehicle suspected to be related to the knife attack.

An area in the car park around around a Click and Collect point is currently sealed off.

Asda have dismissed further speculation that a cashier from the supermarket was involved in the incident.

An Asda spokesman said: “We will be assisting the police in their investigation.”

Police sealed an area of Torrance as part of the investigation.

The cordon was set up at a roundabout on Balmore Road.
