Darts players representing Borehamwood's old Red Lion pub had a season to remember in 1940, when they were crowned Hertfordshire and Home Counties champions.
The team from the pub, which once stood on a site now occupied by McDonalds in Shenley Road, can be seen here displaying the trophies that they won that year.
The photograph was supplied by the daughter of Albae Simons, a member of the team who ran Molly's Cafe, which was on the parade of shops next door to the pub.
Mr Simons and his wife, Molly, who lived in Cardinal Avenue, opened the cafe before the Second World War and it remained open for more than 25 years.
