Bid to film murder trial

THE trial of two men accused of murdering a teenage boy in the Western Isles may be filmed for television.

Johnathan MacKinnon, 22, and Stefan Millar, 21, deny killing 16-year-old Liam Aitchison on the Isle of Lewis in November 2011. The incident sparked the first murder inquiry on the Western Isles for 40 years.

A documentary crew has asked for cameras to be allowed into the High Court in Glasgow to record the three-week case, which is due to begin next month. Recording will be carried out by Windfall Films, which also covered the re-trial of Nat Fraser.
