A Porsche driver was jailed for 18 months after causing the death of his best friend when he crashed the sports car on a country road.
Lord Stewart told Douglas Calder, 39, at the High Court in Edinburgh that he had rejected a plea to spare him imprisonment after giving it "anxious consideration".
The oil industry worker lost control of the car near Strichen in Aberdeenshire, killing William Webber, 36, in April 2011.
