A GAMBLER who became involved in the drugs trade because he wanted to "live the high life" has been jailed for four years and nine months.

Sean Cunningham, 25, from Glasgow, admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin at a flat in Tollcross Road, Tollcross, Glasgow on April 2, 2013.

The High Court in Glasgow heard that the arrest was part of a wider police operation into a serious and organised crime gang in the West of Scotland.

Judge Lord Turnbull told Cunningham: "You were not getting the massive profit from this, however, you expected a financial reward which you said would allow you to live the high life."

Defence solicitor advocate Jim Keegan said his client had built up debts gambling and playing roulette wheels.
