A WOMAN who pretended to be a boy to seduce a teenage girl takes "full responsibility" for her actions, a court has heard.

A lawyer acting for Christine Wilson, 25, told the High Court in Edinburgh that her client knew she had committed a crime.

But defence advocate Shelagh McCall asked judge Lord Bannatyne not to jail Wilson, who was convicted in March of having sexual relationships with female teenagers aged 15 and 16.

Wilson, of Aberdeen, appeared in court yesterday but judge Lord Bannatyne deferred sentencing until Tuesday.

At the earlier hearing, the court heard how Wilson called herself Chris to persuade the 15-year-old into entering a relationship with her. But she discovered that Chris was actually Christine and that she had been conned into losing her virginity with her.

The court heard that in 2008, Wilson had a sexual relationship with another teenage girl – and that she had also posed as man.

Ms McCall told the court that her client has gender identity disorder.

She said her client had accepted her guilt.
