A MAN is to stand trial next year for allegedly making racist remarks at MSP Humza Yousaf.

Christopher Chisholm, 31, is accused of acting in a racially aggravated manner that caused or was intended to cause alarm and distress to the SNP Minister for External Affairs and International Development.

It is alleged that Chisholm, from Gartcosh, North Lanarkshire, shouted and made racist remarks on February 7 in Glasgow. A not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf at Glasgow Sheriff Court and a trial was set for May next year.
