TWO Scots will be sentenced next month after being convicted of killing their young son in a hotel in Tenerife.

Corinna Reid, 37, and former partner Robert Cormack, 42, face up to two and a half years in prison after the death of their 16-month-old son Aiden in 2007.

They were found guilty of manslaughter and prosecutors asked for the 30 months jail term. Defence lawyers called for six months.

The Edinburgh couple were found guilty of giving their son methadone and diazepam but cleared of homicide as they were not aware how the drugs would react with the child's bronchitis.

They believed Aiden had drunk recovering heroin addict Cormack's orange juice, which contained the drugs.
