James Hendry hit his victim, Edward Dooley, on the head and he fell to the ground suffering 'a non-survivable' brain injury.
Hendry (34)who had just got out a taxi with his brother Jacob, told the taxi driver: "Get him in the car or you will end up like him."
Hendry, of Howden Hall Road, Edinburgh, admitted the culpable homicide when he appeared at the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday. The Crown initially decided there was insufficient evidence to proceed with a prosecution after the death of Mr Dooley (54) in 2008. The incident took place in Pentland Lea, Loanhead, Midlothian. The judge agreed to continue Hendry's bail ahead of sentencing at the High Court in Glasgow later this month.
