A CONVICTED Polish rapist who was under threat of deportation has been jailed for life after stabbing a man and woman to death.

Krzysztof Gadecki will serve at least 26 years in prison after murdering Ronald Kidd and Holly Alexander in Dundee.

Gadecki, 38, arrived in the UK in 2009 after being released on parole from jail sentences in Poland for a number of offences.

He was served with a deportation notice by the Home Office in 2015 on the basis of rape and robbery convictions.

But he remained at liberty in Scotland after appealing against the move when he committed the double murder.
