School evacuated after banging noises are heard from electrical substation in Shawlands
A SCHOOL in the South Side of Glasgow has been evacuated after banging noises were heard coming from an electrical substation.
Police and emergency services attended the incident at Moss Side Road at around 10.20am today after they received a report of irregularities and banging noises coming from an electrical substation.
Pupils from Shawlands Academy have now been evacuated as a precaution.
Police Scotland officers have closed Moss Side Road to allow for assessment by their partners at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish Power.
Motorists are warned to be aware if they are travelling in the area.
