Thousands of students from Scotland will today take part in a march against the Coalition Government's policies.

They will take to the streets of London to campaign for help for colleges and aid for the young unemployed.

Students are expected to take part from across the country, including as far afield as Banff and Buchan College. Robin Parker, president of the National Union of Students Scotland, said: "We're marching together to make a stand against disastrous decisions by Westminster.

"Students and young people deserve better. They need to reconsider their discredited austerity measures or risk consigning a generation to the scrapheap. They need to recognise that education and employment are the solution to a better economy."
